It seems to snake back and forth a lot. For example if I have a destination to the west... autopilot will go NW, then SW, then NW, then SW... repeat over and over.
I'm guessing it's overshooting and rebounding constantly...
Trying to fly to Glisal II from omni station using autopilot has a disturbing tendency to take you straight through the ribbons of solar energy surrounding Glisal itself, as well as the debris band surrounding Glisal II. It can easily scuttle your ship if you set the autopilot and then lose focus. Almost sank me twice, and I WAS paying attention! Maybe the shipsim is mutinying.
Dangers are one thing, I don't mind manually flying around those... but once it's a big stretch of empty black, would be nice if it could go in a straight line...

Space is curved, so naturally you aren't going in a straight line. We're just trying to simulate that.

(I joke, that's definitely not right.)
I was manually kicking up the thrust for a while, but I noticed if I leave it alone it will eventually do so itself... after a loooong time...
